Block designs

Anyone doodle or work out block designs? I'm sorta a peltier whore :(. There just so useful!

I'll post some designs tommorow after school but I'd be interested in anyone elses's ideas.

I have to say I don't.....don't have anything I could fabricate them with and the flast far too small to start a lab. I think I may do once I get a bigger place with a garage tho :)

I don't know anyone on the forum that currently toys with anything of the sort but I've been getting pretty proficient in autocad so I may have my hand at it if I get the time.

You do anything of the sort NoL? I noticed a waterblock on OCN that a guy ws working on specifically for procs with no IHS, it looked pretty dran good too. Great idea since lots of us watercoolers yanked the ihs's off of our procs for maximum performance.

I design crap all the time. I'm learning autocad to get more designs into that. Then a certain project coming along may be selling everything from waterblocks to evaporators. :)

I geuss we don't have many frost-junkies here. :(

I would have thought there wld have been an autocad plugin that does it?

Theres one for nearly everything else....

Not that I know of Ham. :(

NoL, what simulations exactly are you looking at running? I know there is a top notch simulation app that they use here at the Uni called CHEMCAD, but I'll bet next weeks pay that it's quite expensive. I could ask the physics and engineering dept heads for suggestions if that'll help?

Eh if its common I'll be able to "find" it.

I'd like to be able to input a design, maybe from autocad file, determine and set a flow from a direction and a heatsource of a certain size and output and be able to see the effects.

rgr that. CHEMCAD will do everything you stated, I'm almost 100% positive of it :)

How much does software like that run PV mate? Sounds like an expensive outfit!

Soz missed your post Frag

Erm tbh I couldn't tell you, but could find out; I only need to ask one of the dept heads at the uni. I'd imagine that your assumption of 'expensive' wouldn't be far off the mark. ;)
