So after a nightmare or a time with my hose and coolant reacting, turning the sunset yellow into, first pee of the morning orange, I decided to strip the loop,flush and re-do it all. Doing so I actually got to use my Pexon cable set.


I'm not overly happy with the runs, but, I'm changing the fittings in a week or 2, so I didn't go through my usual sit back and look, for a while, I just jumped straight in, and got it done. I'm sick of it being down from one thing or another, and I really want to get more than a weeks use in between down times. Plus I've just bought Titanfal and am itching to get started.

Was it because of aesthetics that you decided to put the gpu's in parallel? You could have gone serial easily with the small benefits it brings, plus I think it would look a bit better with less fittings to worry about .

Did you sort yourself out LEDs for the Raystorm?

Cheers mate, the parallel over serial is mainly for the looks mate, I've had it running both ways, with no noticeable difference, either way.

yea I went with basic white led's and swapped the black ally surround out for the standard plexi version. Something didn't sit right with the black on the block, it just doesn't look right unless it's lit up. I did order 2 twins but one of the led's shattered as soon as I put it in the block, the hole wasn't quite finished, but a quick poke with a blade soon sorted it.

I've ordered a 10 mtr, roll of 5050 rgb smd's, along with a sound activated controller, with the plan to have around my desk and monitors, as well as inside the case, reactive to game sounds, as well as movies and music. I've been using the NZXT braided strip lights for a while, but they don't cut the mustard any more. So I don't see the point in putting them in to remove as soon as the new strip comes.

10 metres? That should do you! Last year I built a "floating wall" in the living room using the LED strips behind it. You'll be surprised how much they light the room - for example from settings 1 to 10 the setting used normally is 3.

I digress. Did you think of yellow LEDs for the Raystorm? That would go so well in your build. If I had any yellow LEDs (I've only got white and UV) I'd build you a circuit that you can connect to the Aquaero and dim it accordingly (still using it yeah?). You can buy 50x 3mm yellow 20mA LEDs from ebay £3.68 delivered.

I haven't been able to find any true yellow as of yet, i've bought quite a few, and they all turn out to be amber. If I was going tom keep my ram, I wouldn't mind so much, but the amber light is doing my head now.

Cheers for the offer mate, It has made me remember I've got an Aquaero 5 lt in my shed, that I forgot all about. So no as of now, I'm not using it, I've got my top rad controlled by the motherboard, and the bottom one on 7v, so the top is running passively for about 75% of the time, and comes on at 50 degrees. If it works the way I've set it up to, I shouldn't need to use the A5 lt.

.With the 10 mtrs I'm thinking of doing my hole wall, cos right next to my desk I've got my 50" tv, that is about to go up on the wall, so it might look pretty cool, as there isn't much room that isn't taken up buy tech, in one form or another. It should make a nice affect.

After a mad week, I finally had time over the weekend to rebuild my rig, and give acrylic tubing a whirl, and I must say, what a pain in the arse it was. I invested in the Monsoon full kit, but the only part I used was the 90 degree guide, I found it easier to eye ball the rest.


For my first attempt I'm happy, there are 2 bends that need re doing, and I need a couple of extra fittings, to add my flow meter into the mix, where the front tube runs, between the top and bottom rads, also I didn't have a long enough piece fro the run between the cpu, and the top rad, so I had to get creative with a 45 degree elbow, and an old gpu expendable bridge.

I also gave cable lacing a go, my first attemp being the one going fron top gpu, down, was my first and I done it a tad too tight, but the others turned out well, the same story with needing more waxed thread, so the one also needs doing apart from the things mentioned, she is coming along nicely.

I have lost the sun today, bloody 35 foot conifers, so just the one pic for now, I'll post more in the morning.

This looks really nice, especially the whole yellow colour scheme. The only negative I have, is that the tubing on the bottom-right looks like its slanting down, not straight. Despite that, looks great

If anything it's the long vertical run, making it seem out the top rad, is more to the left than the bottom rad, that's the run that needs sorting. Unless my spirit level is out, it is definitely level.
