Black 900

I've been doing a bit of work on my desktop over the last week (there is a project thread in the projects section) and have got to the point now where minus the cable sleeving as it hasn't arrived yet, i am happy to leave modding it unless i think of something else that will make the case better.

The pictures in the project thread are pretty poor quality, so i thought i would start a thread in here of my pretty much finished Antec 900, with some half decent pictures and a proper spec.

So first off the Spec:

Modded Antec 900 case

Asus P5k

Intel C2Q Q6600 @ 3.4ghz (425x8)

Tuniq Tower 120

4gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer (only 2gb in pictures as i have had to RMA 2 sticks)

HIS HD Radeon 3870X2

OCZ GameXstream 600W

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB

Hitachi Deskstar 160GB SATA-II 8MB

3x120mm Antec blue LED fans

1x120mm Akasa blue LED fan

1x120mm black Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM

1x200mm Antec fan

Now to the pictures.

Computer "ignition", which is wired into the power switch, so if i lock the switch no one can turn the computer on.

Akasa blue LED fan on side window, i had to cut the top corner of the fan off because it clashed with the Tuniq Tower:

The HD 3870X2:

This picture shows just how long the 3870X2 is:

The massive Tuniq Tower 120:

So big that it only just fits in the case:

Feel free to comment on things you like, or don't or even things that you think would make it better!

Best build I've seen in an Antec 900 by far. You make my setup look crap. :p

EDIT - I'm impressed by your photography skills. You make the good bits look amazing.

how did you do your cable management? i feel that there is ablsolutely no room in this case, i have one also and cable management is a pain in the a$$

oops, i forgot about this thread, mainly because i don't use the case anymore

nice rig! whats the mounting u used to mount the fan facing the 3870x2?

It's a housing that comes with the case that clips onto the HDD caddy, nothing special :)

Everything got threaded into the space between the motherboard tray and the side panel, It had rather a large buldge on it by the time i was done, i think the photos make it look alot tidier than it was though.

You are right, there isn't any room in the case, i ditched it when i went water, it was tight enough without, impossible with.

exactly I have all the components to go water but havnt due to lack of space. I want a full scale case but, I havnt found one that I really liked.. I would go with the 1200 if it didnt have a fan on the top cause thats where I want to mount the rad.

I've built a case for my main computer now, see here.

I've also got an Akasa Eclipse 62, which is plenty big enough for watercooling, though it's my server case and IMO it's got a server look to it, not a look i'd want for my main computer.

Very cool, though I got a question about the way you're routing your cables, why do you make your 8pin 12v connector go through the water cooling pipe holes..? Makes no sense to me, also, the way you've layed out the power for your graphics, it's better to get it to come through the first precut hole in the case and then drop down. Your back fan can come under the motherboard, and through the hole by next to the PSU (not your one, there is a precut one :))

Not a bad job though, I wish I could get mine sprayed.. though I would most likely get mine done red :)
