Yesterday Bitfenix showed off a new prototype case called the Aegis and is calling for fan feedback.

As of yet there is no confirmed design choices or even if this case will eventually launch. All we know at present is that it is a slanted M-ATX case with tiltable/ removable drive bays, a side panel window, a 3-speed fan controller and has 240mm radiator support in the front.

Bitfenix also posted a video to YouTube showcasing the Aegis;

Here are a few more pictures of the prototype;

So what do you guys think of this new prototype from Bitfenix? Do you think this design is a good idea, or have any ideas on how it can be improved?

Added this to my list of possible cases.

Spent most of the time looking at it like this due to the angle though. :lol:

I think the BitFenix designer has definitely seen the EVGA Hadron :p

Yep.

Except when they make this a high end case with rad support and removable/replacable drive cages and keep the 5 expansion slots, we've got some nice competition for the 350D :)

If they don't, I don't see much point to the case.

was gonna say I bet the designer has seen the Hadron.. is this a thing now? angled chassis?

I think i would prefer it if the top was flat and parallel to the bottom, can still keep the main chassis angled i like that part.

Too many angles.
I might be slow, but I cant seem to figur out if the table is level on the pictures.
That would make all the pictures at an angle, which would make the case at an even stepper angle...
Also I use the top of my case to put stuff on, which would be impossible on this case, but I dont use my top fanslots for anything tho :-P

I like the no tools option and everything else you've presented in the pics and video :-)

They want feedback, well so be it...

What is the abomination my eyes was exposed to? -ok maby it's not that bad, but i don't like it.
First of all, i don't like the front, and i don't like the look you get from so much angling.

Now, when you decide to make such a design, at lest make proper use of the posibility for increased airflow from the bottom. IE put a fan with focused airflow, ala the Air Penetrator, in the bottom, to help cooling the gfx.

So sorry Bitfenix, this one i don't like.

i actually rather like the lines how ever

the hard drive bays... if you remove them whats going to be left? hope not some ugly mounting system that stops you putting say a rad in its place

the front of the case i hope to jebus is removeable and really hope theres dust filters for it....id personaly scrap the mesh holes on the side and go for a more vent looking intake with a dust filter behind it (when do you ever see something stealthy with holes in it?)
again i hope the top has a dust filter

i also wonder if the angel will help or hinder bleeding in a water loop?

This case is atrocious looking, and I feel sorry for those who have OCD for items which are leaning, or have a fetish for straight lines (myself). After seeing the NZXT H440 there is just no other case on the market that compares. If a manufacturer is going to design a case the H440 is currently the new measuring stick.

What I can't wrap my head around is that you can mount a mini-ITX motherboard in the H440 (Fucking Awesome). I'm seriously thinking about ripping everything out of my prodigy and putting it into this when they are released.

I NEEEEEEDDDD ITTTTT!!!

the design of the case is nice, but that much of an angle just makes it look like it's broken or something, sure an angle would be nice, but not when you need to tilt the drive bays 45 degrees just to make the HDD's work....
