bit of help needed with ram .

Basically bought some ram off here a while back and totally forgot that i had it and now my rams finaly died i need it, how ever stuggling to get any overclock at all

Its nvidia sli ready pc2 8500 1gbx4,( how over there is 1 pair of 2gb and 2 sort of pick a mix) anyway, as my ram knowledge is limited and i usually deal with 2x2 where should i start?

Unfortunately full ram slots don't clock well (i.e. 4 slots filled). Try upping the voltage to what it says on the RAM, slackening off the timings (take it to 2T command). Then up the north bridge volts if its an intel board.

Could you drop the dividor on the RAM down a bit?

It could also be the mix and match thats the issue too... Only need 1 poo stick to make it unstable.

Just remember they ALL need to be set up to match the slowest set. And they will all only clock as well as the slowest set when all in the board.

well its all the same like model of ram, all 8500 and i think 2.1-2.3V just cant get any overclock wat so ever, ill try in the mornin when ive got abit more time and patients, 13mile run/walk has killed me off for today

On a serious note i found that 1 of the sticks i bought wont lemme boot when i put i have it in alone so i guess its broke,my fault really for not checking on purchase. Any one no if ocz rma 1 stick of ram?

Can you boot it with a single stick of any of the others? If you can then yeah, that one would be buggered then.
