Bit of a game.. What car is this?

My friend built it from the ground up about four or so years back. At which point he then posted that pic ^ to Barryboys. Of course at once the p*ss ripping began. Lots of silly gun jumpers saying how he was a d*ckhead and what a waste of an XR2.
When you flip it around however? it reveals a little surprise. It's a Fiesta alright. But, it's been ripped to the ground and Gartrac converted. Cossie lump and about 450BHP at the tires. On those tires it did 11s easy. With petrol.
The missing headlight is the induction and he could literally clip it back in, wire it up, stick the numberplate to the massive IC and drive it home.
There was a lot of red faces on Barryboys. My friend tends to do that.

Nah mate, it's a Gartrac. Meaning it's been converted to RWD. I know every one knows some one who has a serious car, but this bloke is insane. When I say serious car I mean among the most serious in the UK. He's always been like that. TBH the Fiesta was a toy (hence the stupid stickers..) but he has some serious beasts.
A few years ago he built this.. 700BHP Cwest RX7.
He still has that. Then he got this. 550BHP Evo. This one has sold. Note the yellow M3 convert next it it? still has that too.
But both of those were toys too. Because it's what he has lurking in a garage.. This. 980BHP Veilside Skyline. R32, AWD switch to 2WD.
Rims were £1200 a corner. Kit was about 8 grand. In total the shopping list came to about 80 grand. The paint was about £6k.
A serious serious car. He then sold that and moved onto this one.
Which is now pushing over a thousand brake. Incase you were wondering how fast that was, take a look at this..
Now I don't condone street racing. At all. This race was carried out on a 1 mile stretch of road in Surrey called the mad mile.

Thought it must be RWD. A mate of mine wanted to do an engine swap in his MK IV golf, (1.4 --> R32), thankfully he changed his mind and has decided to buy a second hand R32. FWD can handle maybe 200BHP realistically.
Oh and that skyline (both TBH)...beautiful. I'd love to see what a new R35 could do with a couple of turbos.

On street tires and petrol high nines early tens. The problem with it is traction. In AWD its laggy and with it off? Well, see for yourself.
The burnout was for fun, but it just spins through every gear. It's ridiculous tbh.
Got the dyno run here from the Veilside. The lovely belch of fire at the end cracks me up. Problem with that one (and the reason he sold it) was that to push it over the 1k mark would have cost literally thousands more.
Just went digging through his facebook some more. I grew up with this guy, he lived down the street from me. From 14 he was always into Fords. First car he had when he was 15 was a Burton Lotus powered Ford Anglia that he tracked and from there it just got crazier. He went through a couple of RS1600s in his teens, then onto the RS turbos (400+) and then onto the Gartrac conversions. This is the first one he did (prior to the Fiesta) RS Gartrac conversion, over 400 brake.
And that's how they do it. A company called Gartrac make the RWD conversion or you send it to them to do it. At 400BHP just after he built it it ended up here.
But his game has always been keeping it understated. The flip Skyline was the only time I have really seen him go stupid, and that was a few years back during the Fast and Furious craze. But he has always built sleepers, or stupid looking cars that go mental fast.
Completely standard looking. He sold that one to some dude on Passionford, who had it a week and then did this.
Literally bent it around a lamp post. At which point the accusations began (the car wasn't straight when I got it, there was somethign wrong with the back wheels they were out of line) ETC ETC. So at that point I had to pipe up and told him that I had known this guy from 8 years old and he didn't build dangerous cars. Fact was, you're a douche and you couldn't handle the power.

Really? Im sure Ive seen that on ebay or something..... Im a bit of an XR2 nerd and when I saw the stickers I knew it was the turbo'd one someone did.
BTW Gartrac are a very famous tuning company, they dont 'make' the RWD conversion its all bespoke theres a massive ammount of engineering envolved in that car tbh.
