Birthday Present - New Rig Decisions

Hi

I am looking at building a new rig for my birthday in July. I had thought I wanted a Caselabs Mercury S5 case http://www.caselabs-store.com/mercury-s5-case/ until I saw the Parvum Systems thread by Imersa - http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=57034 . Now I am torn.

Budget is probably 3k. One issue is I can drive to the Caselabs factory and pickup the case in Los Angeles and it would be really convenient for custom work if they will do it. The Parvum Systems case would come from England. I think the acrylic looks so clean and complements any system build

Possible Hardware for now are Asus Maximus VI Gene MB, One 780ti (and maybe a second). Full water cooled everything I can. Acrylic or Chromed copper hard piped tubing. Samsung 840 Evo 750GB SSD (i own it)

Would love to hear your thoughts.

You won't be able to get a Parvum Full ATX case at the moment, project Magnus is a one of a kind (at the moment) I asked the same thing a few weeks ago I too am waiting for the full ATX to hit the market

One can only hope, yet I would be happy with the S2 at the moment and an mATX setup for now. Looked at their vendor they mention for the UK and its 140 pounds plus shipping to California. Not a huge gamer so single powerful graphics card will do it.

S2 looks so dam lovely.

I do like caselabs case as they are built from the ground upwards and you make the choices as to what you want, but I also like the Parvum cases as they are different and the modding potential is excellent. When it comes to cases I have learned to step away from normal vendors as they all tend to follow the same old lay outs and styles, I like a sleek exterior (Obsidian style) and the interior has to be clean and neat even though I don't like seeing cables a large window is a must for me I enjoy looking at my hardware I'm already working on a cable free idea for my own rig.

Being English and not particularly patriotic the idea of a case hand built in the USA is a very nice prospect, does that work in reverse for you? I sort of mirror the above comment in that my ideal rig would be an obsidian on the outside and parvum on the inside with the configurability of a caselabs! I appreciate all 3 truly and would really struggle to decide. Out of the box the Parvum would be my choice. The case labs aren't pretty enough IMO and I would probably sooner mod a Corsair case to be as clean on the inside. I don't like the slide out motherboard tray on some of the caselabs and that manages to spoil the interior too for me. If I lived within driving distance of the factory however different matter!

Yet from a design standpoint, Caselabs is a box to hold things in. I have seen some lovely work done in the cases so I know it can be done.

I really was struck by the Parvum Systems case as it is a completely new approach for me. Acrylic, and stylish. Almost, but not quite a cube case and the bent center wall styling really drew me in. I can see how lovely you can make those cases and seeing Magnus by Imersa is just uplifting.

If you live in driving distance of caselabs the decision is pretty easy, get a caselabs and spend some time modding it. I don't particularly like the design of caselabs, their cases have weird proportions, but the parvum doesn't strike me at all. Also if you can't buy it at the moment it's not an option anyways.
Even though the design of Caselabs doesn't allign with my taste i'd still love to build a rig with one of their cases because of the high quality and customizability, you are pretty lucky to live that close to their HQ.
