Hey guys, i am building a new system for a friend of mine. Based on my own experience i wanna use the biostar motherboard for him to, but i also found the Asrock one with comparable specifications.

I am thinking to get 8 GB of RAM and a AMD Radeon HD7950. The processor is an AMD A10-5700.

The only thing thats left is a good motherboard. The price for both of them is in the same range just below 100 dollars. So what are your thoughts about that? Which one is the wiser choice?

hmmm, thats a tough one. Asrock belongs to Asus and does really great stuff with many features for low prices.

Both of them are having the Hudson Chipset and support DDR3-2400 for up to 64 GB.

I would say, just go with Biostar, its a decent choice.

why are you getting an APU then putting a dedicated GPU in the system.

if your plan is to add a GPU into the system you would be better of getting an FX system, it will outperform the apu.

you can pick up a fx6300 6core for the same price as the A10-5700
and motherboards should be areound the same price aswell

hmm, thats a good point. I didnt really think about that. I didnt expect the graphics unit of the processor to be really a good alternative. For me i understand it is more a usual IGP, that i can only use for basic browsing stuff. In most cases this would be fine for me.

I did not order the complete system yet. If you think the APU is just fine, than i could even save the cash and get a faster processor though giving a lower price over all.

what do you think?
