So i had loads of spare parts and decided to build a computer from my old components, anyways all had gone well, built it updated it, then i came to "EZ" flash the bios.. it didnt work, the computer was loading the BIOS then just turned off now it powers on but no post no nothing at all, ive removed cmos and moved jumper headers etc to no avail..

is my only option to get another bios chip.. and will that actually work?

managed to find a bios chip but i just wanted to know if im wasting my time, if it will even work if i replaced it.

thanks,

What MB is it. some have a bios recovery and dont need a new chip, they just need the motherboard cd chucked in a cd drive and they will restore themselfs.

ez flash is gb?

it shold have 2 bios chips and unless you borked both the back up should kick in after a few failed attempts, failing that the cd that came with it should also work as cerbrus said.

its a cheap motherboard so i doubt it has dual bios ;

Asus P5G41T-M LE Intel G41 775

i have tried numerous times it just powers on with nothing happening.

p.s

thanks for fast replies

edit::::

so if my pc will only turn on screen wont come on or anything at all, do i just put my cd in and it should work or do i need to do something??

ez flash is an asus board.

i have it myself, although they often dont have dual bios they do have a certain feature that scans for bios drivers even before boot, i cant remember if thats from usb or cd but its certainly worth a shot,

i put my motherboard driver cd in and the same happened, nothing.. just powers on just nothing comes on =/
