Damn, that sounds like a sweet deal! I'd certainly take advantage of that offer. Now, if only XFX would introduce this on the norwegian market, say, with cards bought after the 1st of february.

evga offers the same thing too, only its 90 days. tbh though a new better card does not come out ever 3 months. i would take a full advantage of it if they did though. i guess its still nice though, for people as such who bought a 8800GTS(old version) right before the 8800 GT or newer 8800 GTS came out. all in all its still a good policy, and good good business to consumer.

IMO it won't work in this country, the EVGA step-up doesn't as the rrp for the new cards is so disproportionately high. You end up spending say 150% of the new cards value, whereas, selling your nearly new card and then buying the brand new one is always going to work out better value. If it didn't make them money they wouldn't do it.

i just picked up two bfg 8800 GT recently, are they only offering the trade up for the price i paid recently to the new cards?

Which works just about in america but certainly not here or in euorpe. It also causes a terrific amount of agro with customers claiming they should still honour the step up after 90 days, say 95 days. Whats the point of setting a limit then ? Is it, yeah we'll do it, only if we like you though?

A good idea in theory, just very impractical as soon as you factor in human stupidity.

Good work BFG, good thing to offer more "value" to the cards, just hope it doesn't add to the cost
