Hi guys, i bought a gtx 670 thinking it would run bf3 smoothly however this is not the case. i have established that the cpu is spiking when the stutter happens. I have a phenom x4 955 at 3.4ghz. Should i just get a 3570k?

no its definitely not that ping is 21. plus on the bf3 console i entered the thing to look at cpu spiking and its spiking loads. This is what they look like

People have seen improvements by disabling upnp via the router administration panel. Have you tried that?

how would i go about getting into the router admin panel.

Find the routers ip address. It's usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
Type the address in any browser and if the above ip addresses don't work, open the command line and type: ipconfig /all
The default gateway address will be the local ip address of your router. Type the ip address in any browser and sign in. If you've never accessed the admin panel the default username and password will need to be used (it is usually admin + admin). If that doesn't work you will need to check your router to find the default username and password combination.

Have a try with vsync on. You will be able to force it of battlefield 3 in nvidia control panel.
