BF3 Clan

So, I bought BF3 yesterday and gave it a little go. Holy moly, I suck. This is going to take some practice, I can tell.

I got it too about a week or two ago and it took me a short while to get used to it especially the sniping but it is not really hard to pick up. I used to play bf2 years ago so bf3 brings back memories of the good old days but unfortunately I feel its a little too much like cod now rather than a bf2 revamp.

Add me on battlelog and Ill play some games with you if you want as I have no bf3 friends lol.

Origin name: B3rni3C

Any/all bf3 players welcome to add me

Subodai

Love the game but my clan is mostly on ps2, i could use a break and have some decent bf3 games.. Anyone who needs a chopper pilot or gunner, i'm your man. I'm pretty good in a shoot out too. :) Add me and lets kick some ass

Ill be on again in a bit just waiting on a game to finish downloading on steam. About 15 mins or so.

Add me on origin = B3rni3C

Upon taking James' advice and checking out a close quarters map, i'm doing a fair bit better. And by better, I mean my K/D ratio is no longer negative.
Something confuses me, though. Why are shotguns held in such a bad regard? They're a close quarters gun and they're effective in close quarters, and yet they're seen as OP? I can kill people just as fast, if not faster, using a machine gun without any of the attachments (I see a lot of people rocking heavy barrels and whatnot, I can only assume that they boost damage/accuracy), but it just doesn't match my play style the same way a shotgun does.

Also, far in the way the most annoying thing about the entire game; being revived in the middle of a busy 'battle ground'. Is there no way to disable this so people can't revive you? I've been killed so many times by this happening, I very nearly drop kicked my cat.

Still, i'm having a lot of fun :)

Get a SPAS with slugs and you'll be unstoppable in close range, as long as your aim is good. People think shotguns are OP because they are kind of OP. With slugs you can drop guys from across the map in one shot which is something not even snipers can do without a headshot. Not sure why people don't just use them in CQ, they are pretty good.

Getting revived and then shot up does kind of suck but they did think of this. When you get revived, it doesn't count as a new life unless you hit space to "accept" the revive. If you don't hit space it won't add to your deaths if you get killed again.

Seems like I should check the slug rounds out, i've just been using buckshot rounds. That being said, I like using the shotguns because they're good at close range. If they suddenly become good at long range, i'll feel amazingly cheap :(

As for the healing, that's good to know, although the protracted respawn is still annoying. I now have to remind myself to look around a bit before mashing the space bar, to see if there're people around that're just going to zerg me.

Don't play it like cod, scope with shotguns and aim between the shoulders then you'll get just 1 shots.
I'm using the DAO at the moment, so it doesn't really get too many one shots. Still, its spamability makes up for it. I've played a few of the larger maps and i've just not felt 'at home' - the small maps are what I like, as they let me play how I'm used to, i.e. like on COD.
