Best watercooling setup for pelt

I took my graphics card out of the loop tonight.

My temps are worse!!!

My old loop was:

Res > Pump > Double Rad > CPU/Pelt > Single Rad > GPU > Res

With that set up the CPU would start at -19*C and eventually, after 4 hours of gaming/benching read +1.5/2*C in the bios. During orthos/occt in windows core temp never rose above 8 deg c, the lowest reading.

I noticed that most of the heat would come from the single rad...

In an attempt to get better temps I removed the graphics card.

Res > Pump > Double Rad > CPU/Pelt > Res

Temps now read -3*C in bios, rise to 18!!! during stress testing...

Was the single rad after the pelt (the 'out' of the pelt is very hot) doing all of the work? It seems so...

I have a second pump on the way for the gfx card... hmmm.

In a w/c loop for pelts, should the rad be after the hot 'out' of a pelt instead of before the 'in'

Res > Pump > CPU/Pelt > Double Rad > Res

Shall I go back to my old set up with gfx, but, as NoL suggested get another double rad

Res > Pump > Double Rad > CPU/Pelt > Double Rad > GPU > Res

Or get a triple rad for the cpu pelt, use the new pump for a second gfx loop?

either u have an air pocket in the rad when moving taking out the gpu. personally id also clean the block.

how about Res > Pump > CPU > Dual Rad > GPU >Single Rad >

Also if the single rad was the hotter of the 2 (probably because it was after the pelt/cpu) why not just switch the rads?

Seems like pretty good temps to me.

How bout a pict of this rig, I would love to see it. For my next build I was thinking of using a Pelt (watching to see if urs works first ;) )

Well, I cleaned every component in the loop last night and I'm positive there is no air in the loop and I re-seated the cpu block.

The thought had occured to me to switch the rads around - I might give that a try. I have dibs on Carbines pa120.3, that should be with me in ~2/3 weeks :) Hopefully that will sort things out...

These temps are with light OC'n with stock/ish volts (~3.2ghz) - when I start cranking it up the pelt wil be overwhelmed and due to the nature of them - when this happens temps will be worse than if i was using just water. I want high 3's (3.7/8/9) if possible.

I would provide a pic, but at the moment everything is a mess - beyond a mess, it is a disgrace. I'm moving into a bigger case asap...

Jim/NoL (or any pelt people) - can you confirm a few things?

I am expecting to stay below zero with a decent OC - say 3.7ghz @ whatever volts - 1.55/1.6... Am I expecting too much in terms of temps/OC?

Jim - I know you use a double rad and this is sufficient for you to stay in negative figures - what temps @ what oc/volts are/were you acheiving?
