Best uk dvd burner

Hi

I need to buy 3 sata dvd burners and i want to know which are best for:

1. Ripping dvd's

2. Burning dvd's and cd's.

If they cold be on either SCAN or Ebuyer it would be good but not essential.

Ive got an NEC. Does everything fine. Just wish it wasn't so loud while playing dvds

I have had a couple of Pioneers which always do me well and my sony's lasted me for years and years

I wouldn't say liteon is anything special, both of mine have been average in performance and that. But man they are loud

The LG usb external one that my mum has is pretty good though so I think LG could be a decent bet if anyone knows about there other drives

I have a samsung in my silent media centre which is pretty good.

my sony's lasted me for years and years

I can also vouch for Sony's, I got mine in a pre built pc back in 2004 and its still going strong. Just a shame its a tad loud

The Samsung is very quiet.

Unfortunately I don't do a lot of burning so I can't really give you any info on that side.
