Best motherboard to go with an i5 4460?

I have 2 in mind ASUS Z97-E and MSI Z97-G45 Gaming which one should i consider..? and i dont plan on oc it now.. maybe later (the cpu) if you guys want to suggest another one you can suggest it PS: Dont put an mobo higher than 200$ ty

You can't overclock that CPU so if you plan on it later then you need to get a K variant such as the 4670k.

Either board is fine. You should also have a look at the GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK and the MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition. Personally out of the 4 options, I would go with the MSI Krait. It's the nicest looking and can be had usually cheaper than the other ones. There's not much difference between these boards.

oh yeah i cant oc that one? >.< damn well thanks for the info lol (so dumb..) and yeah youre right about the msi sli krait but should i consider to get the asus if i buy a better cpu later (because its not for me its for my gf) except that the asus one i mention in the op is the same price as the msi sli krait

If they are any deals going on, get whichever is cheaper. Both are more than enough tbh and not much between them besides looks. Personally I would go with the MSI Krait because it looks better.

I would pick ASRock H97 Anniversary since it's cheaper and got all the connectors + 4 slots of ram. You don't need overclocking board like Z97 when you will not overclock your CPU (4460 is locked).

^I'm inclined to agree with this guy. The ASRock 8 and 9 series boards are very solid and very affordable. You don't need to get a Z97 board because you won't be using multiple graphics cards or overclocking your CPU, right?

Another good ASRock board is the H97 Pro 4. I have the Z97 Anniversary which is only slightly more expensive than the H97 Anniversary but I overclock my CPU from time to time so I needed the Z board. The 4460 has a locked multiplier so you have no use for a Z board unless you want CFX/SLI.
