best motherboard for overclocking q6600

Right, thanks for the heads up, will take note of that and inform you. I'm just waiting for my UD3P to arrive because it was out of stock for the past week because of its popularity here, lol.

The best motherboard for overclocking is a biostar T power I45. it currently holds the world record for overclocking.

I can vouch for the Biostar Tforce I45 P45 board as I've owned it for about a month and probably still would have been if I didn't jump on the Phenom II bandwagon. It overclocks very well but I didn't find it to be too forgiving when overclocks go wrong and it was sometimes a little flakey with double boots. Made overclocking a bit more challenging though and actually it paid off by hitting 500FSB on a 65nm dual core with the ram as the limiting factor as far as I could tell.

Bare in mind that my experience is with a CPU with a low multi (7x) and that won't be the case for you. It does hold a record for high FSB's (don't know if it has been beaten yet?) but that doesn't mean it'll be better than the Gigabyte for you.

i have a q6600 with a vid of 1.2750 (dont know if its good though) and i am planning to get that mobo for ocing. i think (but not too sure) that its cheaper than the gigabyte.

there are 2 versions of that board, the t power and the TP45 HP, they are basically identical but the TP45 HP costs around £80 while the t-power cost around £110.

Mate please read what he asked for he has a quad, any mobo will do.

And athough it will go mental high FSB thats not going to help with a q6600 is it?

Forget the biostar mate.

sorry my bad, got too excited lol:D

The bio is best for a high end dualy, but for every day performance not just frozen cpu and hand picked componants the Asus Rampage Extreme will win hands down.

very true but the cost to performance ratio... very different story, like comparing a ford mondeo to a ferrari enzo

Aye just something about the biostars cheapness that puts me off. *shudders*

Id never put one in a customers machine.
