Best monitor to go with

Hey guyz, I'm going to be in the market for a new monitor (making the switch from CRT) pretty soon and I was wondering what you guys recommend. I would like a monitor no bigger than 24", I have always liked the dell 2405 but I'm sure new monitors have come out. I will be using it for mostly gaming, movies and everyday computing. I'm not too sure which brand to go with, and what really to look for in a monitor to compare with other ones any ideas?

Dell is deffo a good monitor to go with. Lots of the guys here have Dell and have had pretty good experiences with returns if the monitor has had problems.

As for the best model for you, i'm sure one of the guys will be along soon to answer that :)

O yea forgot to add that I have a BFG 7800GTX 256mb so I should be able to pump out a pretty good resolution.

@AK yea you have a nice monitor but what i'd really like is something with a higher rez than 1280x1024 because that is what I am gaming at right now.

@ Kemp - you are currently using the dell? what graphics card do you have?

I use a 7900GTX

Plays CSS fine but some games like Oblivion need to be scaled down to 1680 x 1050. I have to say though that the monitor scaled down VERY well

It's as slick as you can get tbh

hmm so if I do end up gettin it my GPU may have some problems handling the native rez, I would have to buy another 7800 or sell the one I have and upgrade which might not be too bad if I can get a decent price for it, or just get a smaller monitor

i've had a dell 17" flat panel for just over 4 years now. still going stong! (other than where i put my desk lamp a little too close :S , lets just say melt down!!!!)

I'd recommend the ViewSonic's 20.1" VX2025wm.

It's a lovely screen and performs very well with games/arty farty programs

:)

That's the same one I was going to recomend, I'm looking at getting the same one for myself...........:D (after I sell some stuff)
