Best low-profile memory?

Hi guys, I'm after the fastest/lowest latency low-profile DDR3 around, the fastest I can find is 2200mhz. Anything faster that I've seen has a big heatsink and that won't fit in my setup - the Phanteks CPU cooler is so big it overhangs all the memory modules!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking a 2x8gb kit but 4x4gb is fine if that makes it easier. I am happy to pay well for the best kit :)

Cheers :)

Kingston Hyper X savage are the ram sticks you've been looking for.
Also the Gskill sniper sticks
or the gskill ARES

You could always just change or remove the spreaders on your current kit for the bottom half of a waterblock kit or something obviously depending on clearance. Going full no expenses spared on memory isn't very rewarding performance wise and if your hiding them under a heatsink going crazy seems a little wasted.

HyperX Savage and TeamGroup Vulcan seem to be the fastest low profile options at 2400C11, seems like more than enough to me although they are all losely timed for their speed.

Thanks very much guys, I currently have Gskill ARES 2200mhz at CL10, so 2400mhz CL11 doesn't look like much of an upgrade. I would love some Dominator platinum - not bothered about the looks just want the fastest out there - but I absolutely love my Phanteks heatsink and don't want to get rid!! Got my 4790k running at 4.8ghz at the moment, 1.36vcore and temps never go higher than 75degC. It's a pain to fit, a really awkward lump of metal, but well worth it I reckon. Only cost me £55 as well.

I did try to take some heat spreaders off some RAM at one point - it was Intel Masters limited edition memory - and it pulled one of the chips off the board as well!!! :( gutted!

Faster memory is one of the worst upgrades you can do in terms of bang per buck - over a certain point, you get virtually zero return on your investment. The only place memory improvements will show up is in memory benchmarks, but not in any real world applications and certainly not in games.

I know the gains are pretty marginal but... still do want lol.

Yes it's daft but... there ya go :)

Just like a lot of people will pay for neons in their case, or braided cables, I'll pay more money for something that's slightly better spec'd. Each to their own innit.
