best Fans for a 480 Monsta

Hi guys

Ive just got my Corsair 900D and finnaly got my 480 Monsta rad.
i dont really need that big a rad but i like to overkill i just dont know what fans i should get i want it to be as silent as possible but ofc still cool enoght

so far all it needs to cool down is a xfx radeon 7970 Black edition and a i7 3930k

i dont care about the price of the fans i just wanna know which is best when it comes to noise and performance i know those 2 things dont go well together but im sure theres 1 or 2 fans out there that does a good job in both been looking at corsair but im kinda new to the whole watercooling thingy so gotta ask in a place where ppl know sh't got

im sure somewhere in this forum it has been asked before but ive given up finding the thread

Corsair SP120 quiet editions should do you fine, put em on the fan speed reducers to make them really silent and still push out a nice bit of air.

welcome to the OC3D forums and great question.

depending on space constrictions, trying to push (or pull) air through that
large of a span is tough. either a lot of static pressure and/or fan speed
(push or pull) or multiple fans with lower rpm fan speed (push and pull).
if you can get away with the space, push/pull with low fan speed is best for
cooling performance and low-noise levels. and pretty much any radiator
optimized fan with the rpm set as low as they can go would fit your build
needs.

card-blanche on price-point could be easily said, but if you have to buy
8-fans that could be kinda expensive depending on location and availability.

for push/pull most use the Corsair SP120QE fans, Noctua NF-F12, NB PL-2,
Gelid Wing 12 and GT-15 for quiet ops and cooling temperatures.
for single set the above but more fan speed as all except the NB PL-2 will
have the fan speeds lowered from 12volt.

good luck fitting that rad in there, you'll go for the bottom i guess
it will fit with one set of fans, but push pull won't be possible unless you find some way to mount your PSU somewhere else
it also wasn't easy to get the loop going down there because of the lack of space, and i only got a 60mm 360. well, might be the order of my loop but i guess it won't be easy either way with a 480

for the fans, i prefer corsair sp120 QEs or noctua nf f12s

I agree with the Corsair SP120 QEs, which I use 11 of, but personally I think they're still too loud on the included speed reducer, so I run them at about 5 volts instead I think using my fan controller, and then they're really quiet also they look awesome

Monsta rad means you'll need a minimum of at least 105mm space excluding other components (in the 900D that's either the power supply or the motherboard). Push-pull isn't necessary, most people do it for the looks. 1°C difference in temperature isn't really worth the money imo. A monsta rad with a single set of fans however means you'll need to run the fans at a relatively high rpm, thus creating more noise. If I were you I wouldn't bother with a monsta rad and get a standard 60mm thickness rad instead. Gives you much more flexibility. As for fans, AP-15 are the king. Corsair and Noctua make for decent choices too.

it seams that it would be a better choice for me to sent back the monster and get me the littlebrother instead and run a push pull coz its less noisy
havnt opened the monsta yet so it shouldnt be a problem so ty all
