Best Cooler Compatible with Corsair Vengeance RAM

Hey everyone.

I've just got to building my new machine and I'm looking for a replacement cooler for my i7-2600k. I'm gettin ~80 degree temps under prime 95. ~40 degrees during normal use. and ~30 during idle with the stock 3.4 GHz clock. I've been doing alot of research but have received mix information on whether these HSF's would fit. I've been looking at the Hyper212, Noctua NH-C14, and Scythe Mugen 2. I've read both that these fans would fit and not fit with Vengeance RAM. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

The be quiet! Dark Rock Advanced should be able to accommodate high profile RAM.

The Corsair H series coolers will accommodate vengeance, although they are pricey and do get noisy. If silence is what you want, you should have a look at the noctua.

yassarikhan,

I notice you only have 8GB Corsair Vengeance in your rig compared to 16 in mine. Are the last 2 RAM slots obstructed? Can you try to see the H212 clears the RAM in the 2 slots closest to the mobo?

I am fairly sure it doesn't get in the way. I'll make sure when I get home though and let you know. I have some photos saved on my photobucket account and I'll check if I can tell what the clearance is like.

EDIT: From looking at the photos is looks like the cooler isn't obstructing the free Ram slot on the left. I will confirm when I can take a physical look.

Thank you very much!

Also, could you try moving your RAM to the slots closest to the processor?

I'm pretty sure the CM Hyper 212+ and Corsair Vengeance high profile will fit alright. I found some web photos that may be a decent reference for you to look at. It looks to be a Asus 1155 motherboard.

I pulled the "heat spreaders" off mine cos they seemingly do the square root of 3/5's of feck all.

No ill effects reported but I do have roof fans drawing air over them.
