Best Benchmark/Stress test Software?

I have been watching a bunch of videos around the net recently, and each one seems to have a different program for monitering their CPUs/RAM/GPUs temps and frequencies, as well as testing to see how they perform under load.

Is there single program that can do all of these (non intrusive so that I can keep an eye on my temps while playing games, but not loose FPS), or other programs specific to each function (stressing and or monitoring)?

What are ones that I should look into for a 24 hour stress test to make sure I don't need to RMA anything, so that I can be confident in then adding in water cooling blocks and such?

welcome to the forum,

there isnt really an app like you are describing. there are different appz to test different subsections of the system.

benchmarking and stress tests are synthetic simulations. although they test areas of the system, they aren't the

gospel for real-time game-play or application usage.

stress testing isnt to weed out RMA issues, those come by themselves without stress testing.

adding water-cooling isn't a have to have thing, its an add-on to go that extra little bit. in times it might get you 5-12°

drop, but its not supposed to be used for 24/7 over-voltage overclocks.

I use Prime 95 for CPU...

3D Mark 11 and Vantage for GPU.......also looking into using Unigine Heaven, BF & Crysis benchmarks

But there are many more which people prefer, I just got a feel for these and how I can understand my system.

Don't worry OP, a member/moderator by the name of dugdiamond is working on an All-in-one solution. He obviously has other things to do but we will eventually see this awesome creation.

But for the time being as mentioned above I use prime95 or Intel Burn Test for the CPU. 3D Mark 11, Vantage and Furmark for the GPU.

Folding@Home also works as a means of stress testing both the CPU and GPU.

Thanks for the friendly welcome! Still, your mention that water cooling isn't meant for OC'ing the CPU/GUP 24/7? I was under the impression that water cooling's main focus was to keep these chips cool in high temperature situations (over clocking).

I’ve heard of prime95 and 3D Mark 11. I will look into downloading them. When I start over clocking, I want something that can put load on my CPU/GPU for a given amount of time (maybe 24 hours), so that I can make sure they are stable.

You can download a F@H client to stress both the CPU and GPU. What are your specs?

I would just run prime95 for at least 24 hours for the CPU and if the card passes a Furmark test then I wouldn't worry.

Wow, a test engine that uses fur as a stressor, I find that very funny but also intuitive. I remember doing 3D work in school, and fur stressed the renderer to the max!

So, I did a Prime95 stress test, and within two minutes my cores were up to 93C! I stopped the test!

Did I do any damange to them at these temps?

This stock cooler SUCKS!

You are fooked now. Nha just kidding

System is supposed to shut down if the temps are getting to high. Though if you were really unlucky the chip is dmg'ed, but that only happens on rare occasiosns. Just get it back to default, get a good cooler, some arctic articleaner to remove old thermal paste and some new thermal paste to apply to the hopefully better cpu heatsink. Running stock cooler now or what?
