Beer

This thread is pretty funny.

Depending on which country you go to different beer is classed as cheap and crap!

McEwan's for example is pish in this country. There was a bar in Italy that charged £7 a pint for it, they all went mental for it yet turned their noses up at Star and Nuzzio, which conversley in this country is quite highly regarded.

Budvar in Czech simply means 'local beer/ale'. When I was there it was 'the cheap stuff' but here people think its awesome... Tbf I do like it.

I could go on. I mean Magners, it's cider over ice ffs. Similar cider of the same type (dry/sweet etc) would taste the same.

Personally I like all types of booze, sometimes I fancy an ale like Pedigree etc, sometimes something light like Bud/Hoegarden.

I don't like Stella anymore but at uni i loved the stuff.

Tastes change as you mature, damn I could mureder an ice cold beer now :D

why is lager wimpy? lol

and fosters is 4% aswell, and carling is 4.1% lol, im really not arsed by how strong it is, as i dont drink to get drunk (thats just a convenient side effect :p)

im judging this on taste alone, but if you really want to bring in ABV, then isnt caffreys only about 4.1/4.2%?

may i ask how old you are?

4.8% mate do some reaserch before you call drinks wimpey when you quoted 14 year olds street corner pop

im 25btw

huh?

sorry, didnt really understand much of that post.

if you wanna carry on this conversation, just PM me. I dont wanna trash this thread.

as for cider, tbh im not a fan of the sweet ciders, strongbow and magners/gaymers/bulmers etc. Much prefer the dry ones like blackthorn, although that may be because im a west country lad :p

i also think that magners is waaay overpriced for what it is, and you are buying into a brand name, but thats another topic :p

i may continue this post 2moro, but atm im just tired

dave out xx

plenty of places round here where you can get scrumpys, but not the proper stuff..

i mean the stuff which has bits in it, is thick and amazingly strong.

good times...

That stuffs like vomit with paint thinner in it.

Cant beat a pint of real, 8%, dark ale :D

When I drink that stuff its one or two bottles at a time, and its a treat. If I drink to get plastered then its whatevers 2 for 1 at the bar tbh, although I am partial to a white russian :p

U mean the old gut-rotting stuff that used to have bits floating in the bell that they `told u` was apple ?

.. not many apples have teeth and tails ..

Holiday in Cornwall/Somerset, there are still places there untouched by civilization for decades where they "to-this-day" feed monks weekly, and they in return bring them cider in the olde terracott-ery bell bottles.. and of course pray for their souls.

I`d swear it`s close to maddening levels of alchyhol in it.

I don't drink beer much, but when I do it's gotta be Guinness.

I'll drink most ciders... I do like that Scrumpy with bits in (I can get it in my local Asda).

Most of the time though it's alcopops (or recently Baileys). I don't drink to get drunk, just to get rid of the anxiety a bit.
