Beeping noise from psu

integratable

Hello lads. I've got this annoying beeping coming from my cheap Atx2.2 620w psu. Does anyone know why?

Specs: Asus M4A89GTD PRO, B55 3.8ghz, HD6870, Patriot signature 2x2gb 1333.

Are you sure it's coming from the PSU and not the motherboard?

PSUs don't have anything that make them beep, not that I know of anyway

Last time that happened to me it was with 3 graphics cards overvolted and they were drawing too much power from the PSU

I checked again, and its definitely from psu. How to know if there is too less power for my system? I mean everything works fine :|

try and use another psu see if that does the same if not its your psu and you might need a new one. your local computer shop should have a tester to test your psu out if theres a problem it will soon detect it i hope this might help you if you are worried

Are the Capacitor's bulging? If there is no longer warranty on the unit, take it apart and see if they are bulging or leaking, I’m not quite sure what it’s called, but a foamy looking substance?

When it happened to me it was because I was drawing too much thru the pci-e

are all your drives on the one cable

basically I'm asking if one rail is overloaded

I have only one HDD, and two fans per one molex (4 fans total). So no overload what so ever. Dude at the store told me that beeping is normal when system is under load, but she's doing it at idling also...

What is the beep code. Tell us how it is beeping. how many beeps, any long beeps etc. Beep codes tell you what is happening.

Beeps are longer than pauses between them. Its some kind of electrical noise, i doubt that there is a code hidden. Will save up money for new psu, since i dont really trust this cheap beeping thing. Can't remember why i bought it in the first place

I used to have that problem...

It was my AMD 7950 causing the issue, not the PSU.
It's just cap whine though - not a lot you can do to fix it.
