Bay res is making loop impossible to bleed

Hi the bay res intake and outlet are so close together that when bleeding air it gets back to the res and then just gets sucked round again before its had time to rise to the top of the res.

There is still lots of air in the loop cause i can hear it sloshing around in the radiators when i shake the case.

Any ideas?

You could try opening it up and adding a barrier between the in-/outlets that goes on for a couple of cm and only then lets water through...

which bayres is this? surprised it has this issue most of the ones i've seen have some form of bubble catcher

here is the res and the pump is a koolance p450s

There is no bubble catcher the water follows that tube on the inside and has about a 4mm gap between the inlet and the pump intake so air doesn't have a chance in hell of getting out, ive been bleeding this thing on and off for 4 hours now and it still had loads of air in it.

You seem to have more problems with watercooling than anyone else on the planet dude.I have that same res and have no probs with bleeding it,leave the top off for a day or so,dont have the pump running maxed out and restart every so often with a 10 min break to tilt the case if you have probs, anymore than that and you should just stay away from water,it seems to not like you:lol:

I had the same problem with an xspc ddc res/top. Air bubbles were just getting sucked back in the loop. I solved the problem using a little plastic spoon to redirect the flow coming from the reservoir inlet. (inside of the res).
Bled the loop in a couple of hours.
Should give it a try, worked for me.
And like nepas said run your pump on the lowest possible speed.

my pump does not have a speed controller and nepas this isnt the only water cooling loop ive done its just the only one im having issues with the pump is faster and stronger than a normal D5 one so its even harder im going to just get this res:

As that one has a better design. I don't know why XSPC designed this res the way it is all the reviews complain about the bubbles being sucked back in.

Edit ordered the new res will be here tomorrow will report back if i can then bleed the loop better.

New res arrived this morning had it bled inside an hour made a huge difference all is good now will post pics soon.
