Battlefield V's PC version currently lacks support for DXR Ray Tracing

So first they insult potential customers and now they can't even include the graphical effects they showcased.... LOL :D

Oh dear Ray tracing is taking a nose dive. Square have now cancelled production on ffxv

So that is Tomb Raider (which most people have now completed sans RT) FFXV and BF5.

I did comment about this on another forum, but you need to be careful there that you don't upset any egos so it was kinda watered down, but I feel a little more relaxed here.

Basically I think that no one will care. Well, not those that bought RTX cards. I think they are more about the willy waving than the actual RT, because let's face it before they went ahead and bought the cards nothing was actually out there or ready. And, once receiving them, they had plenty of time to back them because RT wasn't ready.

Then again like most of life it comes down to bragging rights, eh? so that is why I think they couldn't care whether they can actually play RT games or not.

If they truly cared about the RT side of it they would have waited for some actual RT before handing over the cash. You also can't teach people self control either.

I agree with most of this, I was hoping to upgrade to this gen and may still do but was planning to do this way before I knew RT was even going to be a thing, I just wanted an upgrade for my 980Ti.

The thing that really annoyed me was when pricing came out and I knew that for me to upgrade, I was going to have to sell a Kidney. I'm currently waiting to see the prices come down and then maybe I'll buy in but to your point it won't be for the Ray Tracing, It'll be to upgrade as I was planning to anyway

I can confirm that BFV's DX12 mode is a little broken, pretty much exactly like Battlefront II's was at the start. Frequent stutters when new assets were loaded in. It seems that there is more than one reason why DXR remains inactive (DXR requires DX12).

They pushed back a whole month and still didn't get it to work right. Interesting tbh then WYP. Seems like they needed more time

Well, they kinda do have more time. Remember that the game is technically in "early access" until the 20th.

I just find it strange that Battlefield V has the same issues as Battlefront did. They should know better, or at least have spotted it and fixed it before now.

Yeah early access but realistically we know it most likely won't get fixed.

I don't find it strange at all. Anybody remember the audio bugs from way back when? From Bad Company 1 to pretty much BF3 and sometimes BF4 they had audio bugs galore. That's from what 2008 to 2015? Frostbite engine just hated audio lol
It didn't happen in BF1 which was the first BF I remember it not happening in.

If I remember correctly, they did address the DX12 issues in Battlefront II. Not sure how long it took though.

Oh I didn't go near that game lol so I have no idea. DICE got some talent without a doubt, but seeing as they have had a lot of experience with DX12 over the years it's surprising they are having this much trouble.
