Battlefield Bad company2 discussion thread

Speaking of which, I had an idiot at Uni this year, trying to tell me the graphics are better for most games on the XBox compared to the PC. I wanted to knock him 9 ways till Sunday for that comment. I don't know how he could claim this when it only has DirectX 9 capabilites and at higher than normal PAL res can't use AA as it's too stressful for the system.

This means that on the large 28 inch TV we have in our house at Uni, it looks pretty horrible in some games imo.

I'm just glad I had a voucher on eBay so didn't pay full price for MW2 making it less disappointing. BC2 is just so much nicer to look at as well, even if it does run like balls on my laptop.

The only point he had came about when the 360 released. At the time it had a pretty new ATI GPU in and of course, optimising a game for a console is easy as there are absolutely no variables in the hardware.

At the time of release the 360 was pretty good. But even then my pal and I both ran NFS : MW and the differences were really apparent.

Other than that? The PC has always been miles ahead because that's where hardware is guinea pigged for console technology. I would even hazard a guess and say that DX11 is Microsoft's way of testing it out before they go ahead and put it in their next console.

some maps were just too big for only 16 players and a match could quite easily be won by only a handful of players on the team.

But that's just my opinion XD

PC servers are 32 players IIRC.

Still have not got MW2 :) I am still having fun on CoD 4, but this thread might tease me into BC2 some time in the near future.

I didn't like MW2 online. Too many small children with large mouths. TBH that's a big reason as to why I don't play games online. People tend to think they are all of a sudden of Mike Tyson stature.

BC2 has a far better single player game. It's massive compared to the paltry MW2 offering. I will say one kind thing about MW2 though and that was that there was some good ideas and content in there, but just far too little sadly.

I always though that MW2 looked better than BC2, less realistic but it had more detail. Really they are very different games because the warfare once online is completely different. The BC2 UI has always been anciently slow for me, in the time it takes for the game to load up I could be almost in-game in MW2.

That is really annoying about the settings though, I do like that MW2 will run on quite a lot of machines, but at least let us use our computers to the full.

I've had so many people say that graphics are better on consoles than on PC and it does my head in. I'm sure that the GPU in the PS3 is based on an Nvidia 7800 or something. And what's worse is when people suggest playing cross platform so they could "own me" in MW2. I'm sorry but when has point and click ever been slower than moving a small joystick?

Oh MW2 looked far more 'Blockbuster Movie' than BC2. Problem is BC2 is DX11. And in DX11 BC2 slaughters MW2 in lighting alone. There's a forest level/scene in BC2 that with DX11 enabled is just incredible. The way the light peers through the trees is just serious candy for the retinas.

Sira. As for the console/PC argument? Well about six months ago people I talk to on a gaming forum were saying the same thing. On that forum there must be a thousand console owners vs three people who game on a PC. Any way, do some googling for Fallout 3 360 vs PC. You *should* find a test where the authors pitted a PC vs a 360 vs a PS3.

My god it made I laugh. First of all on the PC the draw distances were about a mile further, meaning you could plan your car/coach attacks (you know? when you set off a car and sit back and watch the fireworks?) and the trees in and landscapes in the console versions looked utterly terrible. No AA on the bushes or trees made them all blocky like a PS1 game.

And if they still have any argument left? Feel free to point them here to these pics and ask if their consoles can produce anything remotely similar to this.

Dirt 2? I have that, I should really install it lol. And I can't understand why they won't just concede that for gaming graphics, the PC wins outright in almost all instances. Even MW2 is better on the PC, I'm using a 1650x1050 screen through two DVI-VGA converters (one at the screen one at the card) and it still looks better than a PS3 using an HD TV and HDMI cable.

MW2 is a console conversion (if there is such a thing) using quite an old engine. But yeah, you're completely right.. Even that looks miles better on a PC.

I thought this thread was about BFBC2 and not about MW2 graphics. :p

So anyone thinking of getting Onslaught for ANY platform? Doesn't really interest me that much.

yer we need a clan for this game,i need squad members who i can trust, ile add you all sometime and see who is on so we can own

Just had a really bad couple of rounds,I was the only person who went to disarm the MCOMS,everybody else just stood back.

Arica Harbour, as the US our tanks never moved from the start,we had 9 wookies who stayed back(surprise surprise)and me up front tagging tanks with the tracer, but as I was the only engie it was a bit pointless, had run out of rpg's and had half a clip left,so I sat behind a rock until it finished,God i was annoyed
