Good Afternoon!
How many people didn't buy Battlefield 4 when it was released? If your hand is inexplicably raised in the air right now, that probably means you didn't. If you were asleep and missed the launch of one of EA's biggest franchises (seriously where were you?) then this month is probably going to be the best chance you'll get to buy the latest addition in EA's long running Battlefield series:
Battlefield 4: Premium Edition
That's right. EA are releasing a Premium Edition of Battlefield 4 which is going to include a Battlefield 4 Premium membership, containing all 5 expansion packs, with 20 maps, new game modes, weapons and vehicles.
Battlefield 4 Premium Edition includes:
If you're in the UK, you can purchase the Premium Edition, for PC, from the Origin store on the 21st of October for around the £40 mark. This does mean that you are bound by EA's digital rights management, but, as far as I can see, other retailers only seem to have the 'Deluxe Edition' NOT the 'Premium Edition' which contains ever so slightly more.
If you want to buy this on console then you're in luck! The Premium Edition will be priced at £40 for the PS3 version and £55 for PS4 and Xbox One editions. For all the Xbox 360 owners who were slightly excited by this, I must apologise. This 'Premium Edition' will not be arriving on the Microsoft's number one selling console. It was originally rumoured that the game was simply going to be delayed but now EA have said that it's canceled for the Xbox 360 all together.
The Premium Edition will be released in the US on the 21st of October also, and will cost $60 USD, the same as the Premium membership.
Is anyone disappointed that it's not out for Xbox 360? Is anyone even considering getting this? I know DICE had a lot of technical problems with the initial release of BF4 and that seems to have damaged the trust many had in DICE. According to CVG there is going to be a very big update for Battlefield before the release of the final expansion pack and Battlefield Hardline has been pushed back until 2015, so it looks like this is the only Battlefield release for this year.
Peace!
