online shopping sites have to cover their backs, and this is a normal routine for amazon.

they change their release dates more times than i have cooked dinners.

besides it is only an internally leaked date.

here is my opinion (i am a nextgen dev)...

the 9th of september is a friday. the end of the first week of "back to school" (UK). this would be an apt time to launch the game as it's key demographic (school kids) will be like rabid dogs after it, once their best mates' have a copy.

it is also very common for software houses to bend the truth about release dates, because it builds hype.

Yup it's due exactly the same time as MW3,no surprises there!

I think this maybe has something to do with certain ex Infinty Ward employees moving to EA,and the contreversy surrounding it.

I really hope people buy BF3 over MW3,Activision have just got to greedy now!

I heard September originally, then November, but I personally would much prefer it to be September. Plus it can then build up a lot of momentum before MW3 hits the market in November.

Though conversely, a November release brings the Christmas market to town, so hmm.

Another thing to factor in is all of the trailers coming out now, which suggests that Battlefield is coming out sooner or later (even though the gameplay was from the pre-Alpha version of the new Frostbyte engine).

So fingers crossed for September.

They had aimed release for around the end of October - start of November, honestly it depends on how well Alpha and Beta testing goes. But from all the info I'm getting I'd say it's looking likely to be launched end of the 1st week in November, so if you were planning an upgrade around end of October would be a good time to get it all up and running

As for MW3 I wouldn't worry, CoD is dead in the water with a large majority of key ppl from Infinity Ward leaving and moving over to EA's Respawn lable. So basically MW3 will look the same as MW2/Black Ops, so nothing new.

Would be nice to see the game sooner as there is pretty much nothing to play at the moment. Black ops feels boring and MW2 is dead, to top that off Rift has turned into an easy mode yawn fest {yes yes i play mmos!!!} I really need a good FPS to spend my spare time shooting ppl in the face XD

I just hope its better optimized/coded then BBC2 as i had so many issues with that game and it was made worse by the fact i really liked it.

Myself and alot of people i know would be very happy if it was just MW2 with servers and tweaks.

The only gripe my friends and i had with MW2 was its lack of servers and the ability to have a shotgun as a secondary.

It had great weapons and maps and game modes but most importantly it let people party up so you knew you would be playing with your friends. I hate that i join a server with my friends in BO and its a roll of the dice for us to be in the same team >.<
