Battlefield 2 and my new LCD

Im going to complete uninstall BF2, reinstall, uninstall video drivers, reinstall, and then try again.

I think the problem could be the fact that I dont have drivers installed for my dell 2005 FPW (becuase im using windows 64 bit, and the drivers on the CD wont install).

That IS the problem, I asked you and you said yes

I have a 2005FPW and I play BF2 fine on patched WS, its not native.. dell dosen't have x64 drivers for teh 2005fpw

Why would that be a problem? My video card drivers have the 1680 x 1050 native resolution set already, BF2 is supposedly set to native 1680 x 1050, and its all at 60hz......dont really see why the dell driver will change anything.

Nope, the driver was definately not my problem. I totaly RE uninstalled battlefield, totaly uninstalled my video drivers and used driver cleaner, and then reinstalled the latest beta XP64 ATI Cat's and reinstalled battlefield with the dedicated server files. This included new shortcuts. I put in the shortcut fix (both widescreen and +fullscreen work) and now it runs great. Oddly enough, with these new beta drivers it also runs faster than before (and at a much higher res!) whcih was odd, and the shaders seem to be slightly smoother.

After I got it working I patched to 1.02. FOV still isnt perfect, and it is kinda stretched, but not really much it seems you can do about that

Hey kawas. go to www.xfire.com and look in the blue area on the left and right side of the web page. do you see lines? you have to look hard. i just got my 2005fpw and I get scan lines on the left side of the monitor. I have had 3 replacements and all 3 do it. Tried on 3 different comps and I took it over to my neighbors house to try on his comp. only does it on the dvi cable. try on yours and let me know.
