Battlefield 2 and my new LCD

I had a standard 19" inch LCD for about a week, during which BF2 failed to run (crashed on startup after clicking "Play BF2"). I now have a new 2005 FPW dell widescreen, and BF2 does the same thing. My friend has the same problem with his LCD and BF2 (but he also has a dual setup with a CRT, which I do not). Ive heard you have to edit a few files for BF2 to work with some LCD's. Suggestions?

Then go back to patch 1.01, that's what they advised to do. No using 1.02! lol

Patch 1/01 had memory leak problems. They recalled it and then released patch 1.02.

That patch does not have the memory issue

Ah right, I thought it was 1.02 with the memory leak. My mistake.

erm, what makes you think this is your screen? has it ever worked??

i assume you have tried reinstalling bf2

Yes, ive tried reinstalling BF2.

I know its my screen because w hen I connect any CRT to the system, BF2 loads fine. Any LCD fails. Many other people (many of my friends) have the same problem

That's real weird, most of my mates with BF2 have LCDs and it plays fine :(

Im going to complete uninstall BF2, reinstall, uninstall video drivers, reinstall, and then try again.

I think the problem could be the fact that I dont have drivers installed for my dell 2005 FPW (becuase im using windows 64 bit, and the drivers on the CD wont install).
