Battery Charging Question

I found a site that is about 40mins away from me and spoke to them about this just to check what their rules are so I'm just waiting for my car now and then I'll go and play at their site. I've only ever played it twice before at Alpha 55 when I was like 15/16.

I did think about a Classic Army Sportline for now but I may as well wait and get UKARA registered and buy a proper rifle.

Are you on Arnies Airsoft at all? You opened the first indoor site? That's awesome, it's not by any chance the one on the latest CQB ScoutTheDoggie YouTube video is it? That looks fun, quite dark. It's like the SAS one...what do they call it again?

Personally these aren't really *tough enough* and have a little too much plastic for my liking.

I doubt it, I haven't really been involved for almost 2 years now so it's taken a different path to what I when I was there, it was more popular with kids back then as we had the lowest age group for insurance in the country for a little while (paid through the nose for it as well)

if you're interested take a look www.arenaairsoft.com it's nothing special like, but it did ignite the indoor only scene in my opinion.

Erm I don't know I haven't watched his vids in a while, most of his stuff is Glasgow area so I'd be surprised if he came this far south. Could be though?

We've derailed somewhat here.. perhaps you should make another thread about airsoft stuff lol.

I know these videos say this stuff, but for my own peace of mind. Especially with lithium batteries, i'd 80% charge it (this is called a storage level charge) and I'd put it somewhere safe.

If you're never going to use it, this really is best practice, I wouldn't chuck away caution on one video.
I second that. Besides If you keep it in there the heat the Notebook produces will transfer to the battery. If you use it stationary chances are you will use it quite alot. So your battery will be at a high temperature for extended duration. Which you can guess is not ideal.

My buddy's dad had his Notebook plug in the wall for over a year of stationary use. When he once pulled the plug. The battery was flat out dead.

Even under optimal storage li-io batterys will "age", but your always better of putting it away somewhere cool and dry (believe it or not some people recommend the fridge).

I've created another thread SuB. :)

I didn't actually know you could pull out the laptop battery and still use it tbh. HA, mine is basically a dekstop PC then since it's probably never done over an hour in three years without being plugged in.

If it's fully charged unplug it, if it's running out plug it in.

If you know you're going to be stationary, charge it like SuB said and just remove the battery.

That's worth asking about, I personally charge my phone at like 70% everyday, by the time I go to bed but some people say it's better for your battery if you let it loose it's charge to a few percent then charge.

But then I see people (it's always girls) saying iPhone batteries are crap...no they arn't, they're the best I've ever seen in a mobile device!

Didn't know you were an Airsofter SuB, always want to get into it but never do. Can't get my head around UKARA, frustrating if you're just starting out.

As much as I dislike apple for reasons that are off topic and will start flaming (maybe), I have to admit apple do go out of there way to save battery.

Under clocking CPUs and the like.

LOL we got a hater! (Only kidding, hate that term, regular people like ugh ignore the haters, what haters? Your not famous not enough people know you to hate!)

But I would like to know why you dislike Apple. I personally LOVE em'! :)

It mostly how they act as a company but also the closed nature of their operating system.

Back on topic lol batteries don't like being cold so don't follow the Internet and put a stored battery in the fridge.

So long as the battery isn't getting hot best place will be in the laptop, doing lots of small charges.

Actually some older batteries do reset their 'memory' when cold, the key thing with Lithium stuff is that it doesn't get hot! (they generate enough of their own heat when you charge and discharge them)

Just keep it somewhere dark and at room temperature at storage charge levels and check it once every 6 months and I'm pretty sure it'l be fine.

Agreed older batteries used too.

New batteries dont like being too hot or too cold or being empty much like my belly :D

Lithium stuff doesn't like being discharged faster than their rating, or charged faster than about 20% of their max discharge rate either..

Lots of maths for charging Li-Po's without them exploding!!

Luckily for us we don't need to do it.
