Bandwidth Limiter

There is a app called cane and abel, which makes everyone on your network connect to the internet via you pc.. You can then use netlimiter to cap there bandwidth.. I used this combionation once whilst shring my internet to my neighbours.. You can also see what they are browsing and I was very suprised at some of the stuff I saw on there connections!!!

See if your router supports QoS

If it does, use that
Most iptables QoS allow the ability to set rules based on MAC addresses aswell as the default config of using port ranges.

^^^This. QoS would be my first choice, if your router supports it. Has come in
very handy for me at some times.

hmmm I may have to purchase a new router it looks like,

I'll probably grab Asus new line of AC wireless routers.

Thanks guys ;)

Just make sure your network can actually give you the AC speed and that you have products that support it: otherwise its just wasting money for no signifigant gain.

Yeah I got the new Asus AC66, I keep dropping out and my current router is ass.(Linksys)

15MB DL 10MB UL

It's frustrating as hell paying $70 a month and some entitled jackarses go on and just download infinite youtube videos all god damn day.

@FTLN

Do I need to be connected by ethernet cable? Am I going to have to hand out passwords for a new network? Also others connected directly by cables will they be able to connect?

I was connected to my shitty routeur via wifi, using cain and abel all clients that were connected to the same routeur via wifi and ethernet were forced to connect to my computer after settnig up arp spoofing in the app, I then used netlimiter to block ports and cap speed.. It was a couple of years ago I did this, and also it could be illegal. Have a look for arp spoofing on youtube, there are lots of guides.
