Yo people

My Ballistix has died. Kustom PC's are RMA'ing it for me with a full refund (about £220 I think) and I need some new RAM.

I was looking at the Mushkin Extreme performance (£170): http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Mushkin.html

Or the OCZ Platinum PC4000 £220: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Enhanced_Bandwidth_Series.html

Im tempted with the Mushkin seeing as its so damn cheap and needs low volts to get up there :) but the OCZ look nice, although a bit on the dear side :(

There's also the Muskin Redline which is expensive but looks nice too:

What dya think?

Looks like you got one of the unlucky ones man. Harsh luck... :(

Well, it seems the OCZ and the Redlines are slight risks for the OC scene. Sometimes you can get up to like 270-280 on stock timings, and sometimes you can barely manage the stock speeds. The XP (normal) seem to be fairly consistent 270-280 at stock timings. There's always that Corsair kit (157) I've shown some of you, but then money doesn't seem to be of much object to you guys and I'm pretty much the only one here crazy enough to take the leap :D ;) All up to you man

Let us know how u get on. If you can top 280mhz with em i may well be interested in some for myself.

 I still have to fit the ballistix reccomended by you into my non existant board. Hopefully they will be ok if not mmmmhh more worried about this than bird flu.

Soz man mine were fine until last week I had no problems :(

well ocz plat. eb and mushkin redlines use infenion based memory. The black HS Mushkin uses Samsung UCCC chips. Redlines are a good buy , albeit at a cost. Ohh well. Sry ur ballistix died . I think mine are on the way out as well. But they are weird , one boot , they are just fine and dandy and the second boot , NOTHING. Sigh , i wonder when they will make a decent bios for Expert like they did for the DFI NF4 series.

It was the same for me on the SLi-D mate. Once it would run fine then next boot loads of problems....then next one no boot. They also gave me problems with HDD data integrity :(

The Redlines are in and working at the stock 250 x 10 3-3-2-8 2.7v nice and easy. Once XMS eventually sends me his water I can get this chip up a bit. Might try 280 x 9 in a bit :D
