backgrounds killing my eyes

well i have had a little problem, i do sit on the computer pretty much all of my spare time and i have noticed that desktop backgrounds like the SX one kills my eyes so much that i have to get off and it gives me a massive head ache, but the normal default XP ones dont hurt my eyes at all hmmm weird my refresh rate is at like 65 herts

maybe its because al the SX's bakgrounds are bright, brilliant white

if white screens hurt your eyes it shows that ur refresh rate is too low and COULD be doing serious damage to ur eyes; increase ur refresh rate (within urmonitors limits) or drop ur screen res and increase ur refresh rate <within monitors limits>

yeah raise the refresh rate and should do the job. also there is another option i know of if that doesnt work. what res are u running at and how big is ur screen?

Yeah my eyes are really receptive to CRT flicker mate, 65 Hertz is really hard on your eyes. Either get a flat panel monitor, or up the refresh rate to at least 80-85 Htz in display properties.

Yeah I have both, I used to swear by CRT's for gaming. But the new TFT's are 'sexy' and 8 m/s response times without ghosting :drool:

Yeah it's not a bad looking monitor Austin, TOM

seems to like it. There are a couple of annoyances and not as vivid colour compared to a couple of other monitors available, but if you can get over these then go for it. BenQ are on the cheaper side of town imho, but their bang for the buck is good. Check their pixel policy too champ before you purchase
