.avi resize?

I have a video taken with a camera that I need to upload to youtube but is way to big. What would you suggest to resize it?

Resizes my movies ok.

Yea, I've decided to convert it to .mp4 because it is smaller but I can't find a freeware program to do it. All I have found is free trials thats put there logo on it

virtualdub will doe xactly what you want a million times betetr than windows movie maker, and it will allow you to compress to any codec you have installed on your comp (xvid etc)

and its also a standalone .exe

Yep, virtualdub has a fantastic amount of options. You have to find and install the codecs that you need by yourself though. Oh and it's free.

dont forget that your avi will more than likely be a uncompressed avi, so you just need to convert it to divx, xvid or any other codec and you will notice the difference.

What I would do would be to use AVISynth, using VirtualDub as the interface. For mp4 conversion, I think MeGUI will do it.

Can u list the tag reference for it ?

Window$ movie maker is just plain pants, whatever it is u want to do with u`r avi, I can almost guarantee u it won`t do it the way u want to. It`ll do it the way it wants to I spect, and u`ll need to download something else to achieve that, then update.
