Audio Clarification

You would set your application's output to the Fiio. Simples :P

My mate sounds fine, so I guess the mic's doing it's job

Would i plug it into the fiio? Again i'm audio noob lol

Also does anyone know of any free music download sites? Ones that aren't virus infested(which means probably not illegal)? Need to test out the DTs! Heard Spotify is a mess so i won't use that, i looked at Bandcamp and none of my artist were on there. I listen to metal music if that helps:p

Spotify uses 320kbit/s OGG files for the PC streaming client, thats usually considered quite high quality. Other than that, there's Jamendo.

https://www.jamendo.com/

You won't find (m)any main stream musicians there, but there are a lot of good indie artists and last time I checked you can download FLACs for free (but not necessarily from every artist)

There's no "FLAC Download" button tho, you'll have to download it via URL directly... Here's the link:

http://api.jamendo.com/get2/stream/track/redirect/?id=insertIDhere&streamencoding=flac

the ID is part of the URL, for example for the song Living with the Pain from Fallen to Flux this is the original songs URL:
https://www.jamendo.com/de/track/1155240/living-with-the-pain

What I highlighted is the ID you need to copy from one URL to the other to get to the FLAC download.
The specific song I posted here was the first metal song I came across there tho, it is not very beautifully mastered so this may not work ideally to test your setup, but this method works with most songs.

Edit: I also just found "Tidal" which seems to be a FLAC streaming service with about as many songs as Spotify... They offer 44khz, 16bit FLACs for 20gbp/20usd per month.

44khz and 16bit? Isn't that low? Considering the e10k can do 24bit at 96khz?

Though Tidal seems great. Has all my bands except the newest ones. Don't think its worth $20 per month. Would rather download them:p

You would plug the mic into your onboard sound.

44khz/16bit/24bit/32/bit +++ all make a very marginal difference. I can personally hear more of a difference between 320 mp3 and FLAC than I can between 44/16 and 96/24 (yes I am using 96/24 files, and not just the setting)... and the difference between mp3/flac is already pretty minimal.

Honestly just go to ''those'' torrent sites, they usualy have flac versions of popular albums, and 320 versions of everything. When you find an artist you wanna support, just buy their music and feel good about yourself :P

I'm currently rocking a Silverstone DAC/AMP combo with some DT770 pros after being where you are for so long and I have to say it is worth it. Everything is so nice and clear.
