To be honest (if this source is correct). ATI's offering looks meager

just 16-pipelines, which is less than NVIDIA’s G70 architecture that has 24

Not looking too good.

The Radeon X1800 XT will ship with a $599 price tag, which is $100 to $150 more than what GeForce 7800GTX graphics cards

Again - far too expensive compared to the GTX. ATI won;t sell hardly any at that rate.

Benches in games:

The numbers show ity all. Frankly if this is correct: I'm very dissapointed. After waiting over 6months (later) then ATI planned the release, hearing the pipelines go down from 32 - 24 to 16 and then seeing the fact that at higher resolutions: the 7800GTX scales better than the ATI cards: I'm very annoyed at ATI. IF this information is true: there is not contest out there (especially at that pricepoint) and I see no reason for anyone to get a new ATI card or crossfire or use an ATI product.

Sound harsh? Get over it ATI and come back when you can offer something better.

I just hope this pre-release information is incorrect :(

Interesting....

But those results are results from using Alpha or Beta drivers? Nvida wins (barely) in the HL2 arena, ATi wins (barely) in the FarCry arena, and Nvida wins (by quite a bit) in the Doom3 world...

As it stands the only people that would buy that card are ATi fanboys or uneducated consumers. I for one wouldn't pay $150 more for a card that will offer equal or lesser performance...

Totally agreed with that. It would be a waste of money.

As for drivers I'm unsure: but seeing as this has been in development for like 6-12mojnths you would have thought the drivers would be damn near perfected

Wow... They may as well not even come out with this card and pull a 3dfx on us... Because this is SHIT. I wanted the r520 to rock cock :(

That sounded very wrong, but, whatever....

ATi, I hope you can do somethin cuz..well tbh you got owned...not number wise, but, with how long the card took to come out.

I don't think they'll become 3DFX, too many ATi fanboy's ;).

frankly i cannot beleive this, i have been an ati person all my life and, yes they have bought out some extremely good cards such as the X800 series, but im desgusted at this
