ATI's Online Benchmark For Vista Readiness

I'm getting ready to run it on my backoffice computer @ work which is a craptastic HP w/ a non-HT P4 and onboard video and I think 512mb of RAM....

What a bunch of crap, my new Conroe rig didn't pass optimal :p It didn't like the fact that I only have a 7600GTS, phooey on them!

Thats fing rediculous. How many office/normal user pcs have cards more powerful that that. Its just going to push up the price of pre-built systems for the average user.

Will run on mine after the defrag is finished...

I mean it passed the regular test or whatever, but it failed me on optimal, pffft. Doesn't matter anyhow, for $50 I was able to upgrade from my 7600GTS to a 7900GTO :p That'll show that stupid test!!
 
I bet we still get adverts saying 'THE MOST POWERFUL VISTA PC!!' with an X1300/7300. I blame dell.

Dumb thing failed me on video card for optimal. It says I passed everything under vid sub categories but I guess the 7600 GT xXx isn't to sexy for it. IMO its a POS! This stupid software thinks I'm using PCI/AGP and recomended an upgrade to PCIe.

No mate, it didn't recommend that you get PCI-E vid card, it's saying thats the lowest recommended style of card (if I am reading it how I think you are). It's like when I run the test it recommends a P4, but im on a C2D which pwns P4. It's just giving the recommended lowest to pass mefinks. But yeah, total crap that it failed u with a 7600GT, that's some crap, it failed me with one too. It passes all the way with the 7900GTO though :)
