ATI R600 Rumour No.2

Now we know why the R600 was delayed for so long. It seems that ATI encountered yet another weird bug with the A0 silicon, but this one did not lock the chips at 500MHz, but rather disabled the Multi-sampling Anti-aliasing (MSAA). Regardless of the problems ATI has encountered, the R600 is shaping up to be something extraordinary. Care to comment? Feel free to do so below...

I'm looking forward to DX10 and some DX10 games so I can do some ATI vs nVidia benchies.

If what they say is true about nVidia being faster at the simpler computations while ATI is oriented towards the complicated stuff, then relative performance is probably going to be very game-dependent. Here's hoping the card I can afford does all the games I care about well...

TBH i think this will pn when it comes out. ATI have AMDs experties and money behind them now.

I reckon the ATI cards will

slap the nV cards pretty hard when they get released. Hopefully they'll be smaller and require less friggin' power than the G80's .
