ATI Catalyst Legacy Drivers - Scaling Problem

Not sure if anyone has experienced this but I have had to go back to using my old X1900XT GPU due to my 8800GTS dying and have a problem with catalyst scaling.

I've searched around and think it's maybe just a bug with the legacy drivers.

Basically I have a 23" widescreen monitor and whenever I go to 1024x768 it stretches/scales across the screen instead of keeping the aspect ratio

I know the monitor is setup ok as it was fine with my nvidia card.

I've looked at the options on the catalyst panel and there don't seem to be any options for scaling at all (have also tried dvi + vga).

So at the moment I am using my 19" 4:3 monitor when playing on 1024x768

which is a pain

In CCC click the My digital flat panels tab and then the properties one and there should be a option for GPU scaling, make sure that is disabled.

This is what I see in CCC

I also tried putting it to Basic mode but there's nothing there either

That looks like an old version, do you have the latest drivers installed because it should look like this.

Also tick the Reduce DVI frequency for high res displays and force component detection boxes, see it that helps.

Can I install the new CCC with the legacy drivers?

Was reading that some people went back to the catalyst 8.4 drivers to fix scaling

Current legacy is 10.2 and I think they stopped support completely for any cards which aren't in the 'HD' range

Just checked and it says it's not compatible with the new Catalyst, looks like you will have to give the 8.4 drivers a try.
