Well the title explains it all, what is everyones thoughts on these cards? Who plans on getting one of these when they release? Any thoughts on who beats who? What's your favorite? Nvidia or ATi? Discuss!

the official dual gpu card from nvidia will be called the 590 mate, and its gonna have 2 570's or 2 580's so with that its going to destroy the ati card (if the green card works properly!)

I apologize, Everyone is calling it the 595. Initially I was going to say 590 but I ended up standing corrected anyway.

Hopefully the Nvidia card doesn't take out the power grid in my town. xP although I wonder if it'll become a space heater like the others. It gets mighty chilly here in Canada!

yeah its prob gonna run quite hot, but then all dual cards so and lookin at the 6900 series from amd they run even hotter than the nvidia ones

i think the 595 is EVGA's card, so not a reference or anything like that a custom card so to say but the 590 will be a reference

I hope the 6990 is going to be more powerfull, so that everyone will be gobsmacked...

But no the gtx 590 is going to be faster since the HD5970 still is the fastest card and nvidia wants to have the kingcard under there name again... I think... Anyway, the prices will do the talking in the end

Cheers!

would love to predict the 6990 will be faster, but i cant see it realistically happening. the 590 will have far better specs.

amazing the 5970 is still right up there

If I have to guess, i'd say the 590 is likely to be faster. Unfortunately I also think it will be priced between $800-$1000 or (500.00-625.00 GBP) "OUCH". Of course this is just wild speculation, so take what I say here with a grain of salt.

well if u think of the ppl that run sli 580's and they spend around £400 per card - this card will appeal to the same consumers

Being an AMD fanboy and all I'd want to disagree. But after what I've seen about the GTX 580 doing almost as well and sometimes better than the 5970 I might end up leaning towards Nvidia for the first time in my life. Although to me the price point is crucial, as well as heat and noise. I wouldn't want to end up with a new GTX 480 space heater running at 4234234258 Decibels. Hopefully the Nvidia card is cool and quiet. But If it is reasonable and all around better than the 6990 I'll get it. Providing I don't need a nuclear plant to run it.

Being a Fanboy is rather idiotic Fella. Go with the best at your price point at the time of upgrading. Thats it. Don't lean either way.

That's why I was always a fan of AMD/ ATi, their price points were right up my alley and they performed great!

even tho its the 6900 series that run hotter and louder this time around

*Shrug* For the extra performance I'd deal with it. But Regardless even ATi is pretty hot. So I can't go completely bias. It's drawing closer, it's getting harder to choose my next GPU.

I think the 590 will be out if my price range. The 6990 should cost a little more than 1 580. Making me think that is a better point.
