Can anyone tell me about the airflow of the Atcs 840? If i add all the fans in will it be enough to provide enough air to twin frozr sli without one overheating? (only have one right now so not necessary yet)

Any help appreciated

Well i was planning on the p67 sabertooth as it got such a good review.

A: it will run at 8x 8x lanes with 2 cards

B: youll have 1 slot between the 2 so it will be ok, Id deffo look at the Gigabyte 560's over the MSI's though.

It's a 580

Just edit the first one then lol.

IMHO if you want dual cards you need the UD7 from gigabyte so you have 16x 16x and a decent layout. No point putting a £500 card in an 8x lane is there.

Or just put up with a single and not have any of these problems.

Yeh as i said in the original post i dont have the second one yet, and i won't it need for a long while

And doesn't having 16x lane instead of 8x make about 3 or 4 fps difference?

Last year some guys over on another site did an experiment with the X58 to find out the difference between dual x8 and dual x16 when gaming and apparently unless your using a multi monitor setup then there is no noticeable difference.

I don't know if there's a difference between x8x8 on the P67 and x8x8 on the X58 or not but I wouldn't have though so.

Here's the link if you want to check it out http://www.hardocp.c...16x16_vs_x8x8/3

Oh yeah and in response to the original questions too... The airflow is good if you set up the fans to your needs.

Love the 840.

Thanks for the link Karlos, didn't realize it made that little of a difference.

And Bungral, what is the best setup for the best airflow? i read that it's best to take out one of the top 230mm fans.

Well mine is slightly different as I have a 360 rad in the roof with some panaflo fans on it.

BUT if I was going air cooling, obviously leave the big fan in the front as an intake and I'd put another 120mm fan on the floor where the grill is by the PSU as an intake.

Then I'd either (depending on cooler) have the fan on the back of the case near the CPU as an intake and just leave the two 230mm fans on top of the case as outtakes OR have all three up top as outs.
