Asus Z97 adaptive voltage problem

So I have a moderate overclock (4.5 ghz @ 1.168v)

Manual/fixed voltage works fine but adaptive voltage goes up to 1.255 when gaming.

It happens with offset on Auto, but even if I set offset to 0.001 it still happens.

What am I doing wrong? (I have the latest bios updates.)

Set your LLC to level 5/6 in BIOS. Not sure what the settings are on Z97 but that's how mine is for a Asus Z370 board.

If you levels are different then set it one below max. That's the advice Debaur gave for adaptive at least.

Also try different voltages for the offset, its not an exact science and each board / bios rev can be different.

Get a note pad and pen and start writing it all down (thats what I have to do for reviews)
