ASUS Z270 Maximus IX Extreme Preview

lol Intel & AMD fan boys/girls will never ever get on so that bit make me laugh.

To anyone moaning about the pricing there's a reason why this cost more than a normal motherboard.....lol

After the show they did on the 1st im really not impressed by asus right now, they shouted about future products and they only stated intel and nvidia stuff. The fact they arnt doing this board for am4 is shocking.

I dont understand this mindset where companys think people who support amd are cheapskates. I would happily throw £500 at this mb for my ryzen build if not more. And the limited scope of the asus line up when you compare it to others is a bit lack luster.

Yes we can say the components are bulletproof, but the lack of more then 1 m.2 connector, the fact the crossy doesnt even come with the wifi connected onto it out of the box, the fact they are having the worst problems right now just via ram screams they simply dont care.

To me what they are doing right now is tokenism and for the first time in over a decade im actually thinking of not going asus. And its a shame because this extreme motherboard is a thing of beauty and for anyone who is thinking of watercooling this is the go to board.

Shame.

.

A £600 AM4 board wouldnt sell.

£250 is high enough in the grand scheme of things.

Im sure youll get something else AM4 wise but there is a limit and you have to think they know a bit more than you may, especially as I doubt youd buy a £600 Ryzen board even if they did make one...

I dont understand that, why would a £600 board for intel sell but one for amd wouldnt. And in essence your paying £250 for the mb and around £250 for the waterblock.

And people are willing to pay £300 for an am4 board right now without a waterblock and all the extras for watercooling. And if people are willing to pay over £600 for a gpu that gets swapped out every new iteration then why different for a top top TOP end motherboard.

If you were in a position where you are going out and out ryzen be it these 7's or the 5's if they turn out to overclock more or even the raven ridges and were going to watercool wouldnt you spend that much for a solid base.

And please i know your into watercooling, show me anywhere that you can get a monoblock of that quality with those features anywhere outside of this motherboard.

I couldn't agree with that more. People do not pay Intel prices for AMD gear.

AMD had a hard enough time trying to sell the Fury/Fury X for the prices they needed to charge. That's why there's still a whole heap of them floating around retailers/Amazon.

Your right they dont, because they do not have the option, and fury is a wierd cat as it is, its got hbm true but its kneecapped by the limited ammount. If its simply a fact that we have impossed a class system into hardware then be honest and just say it.

I mean damn i seriously should not have paid £500 for an amd cpu, what was i thinking, im just a poor boy.

You've only just realised that?

Ever since AMD and Cyrix made CPUs it's been a class system. Nvidia made it all about boasting/bragging and it's only gotten worse since. Intel were taken down a peg or two during the P4/Tbird days but at the end of the day they survived it well, even though their CPUs were poo. As soon as they released the P4 "extreme" edition it was all over. Welcome to a world where my epeen is bigger than yours.

Lol, ryzen is knocking chunks out of intel, hell the latest bios for MSI just ramped up ryzen power and ill say that again, bios. But hell thats on a £300 mb, no one pays over £250 so what do they know.

But hey, if asus dont want the amd money, others will happily take it.

I know right? stupid Asus.

Why don't you apply for a job there? maybe then you can tell them where they are going wrong all of the time.

As it stands if things remain as they are within three years it could be only Asus and Gigabyte left making motherboards. That's how wrong they get it all of the time.

Offended and peeved off are very different things, No one would bat an eye if i went all out watercooling, grabbed a mono block (when they come out) and went all the whisltes on am4, grabbed an 960 evo pro, a mega expensive monitor and went mental doing a custom case.

But i suggest that we get an extreme watercooling motherboard that is viable, has flow rate, leak sensor and was specifically designed for the mb and software and im suddenly offended by everything, hmm. Interesting.

Infact the only narrow minded thing going on right here is trying to suggest that people on am4 would not buy this board if available.

You never know what will get released later.... Just chillbill

Im going off of the presentation they did on the first, and no not an april fools joke, i stated this in my first response. They have stated whats coming in the year ahead, thats where all the news of the posiden came from.

But what we have right now are litterally token offerings from asus, they have done the least needed to enter each market on the chipset standings and form factors.

They have not done anything close to msi or asrock. As it stands they arnt even that bothered about pushing bios updates out, MSI are on there 6th one and are pushing the boundrys of ryzen, there boards even have 2 m.2's on them, one through the cpu and one through the chipset.

And if anything that has come out over the last decade that deserves all the bells and whisltes and for companys to stand right behind it and push there products to the raggidy egde then ryzen is it.

And in that presentation amd was mentioned for all of 2 seconds, the rest was intel, gsync and nvidia. Its obvious to see just from that where asus have placed there cards.

And tobe brutal the best mb out there right now is not the crosshair, its the titanium. And there is no reason why they couldnt do an am4 extreme, the market is there, and these things arnt meant for the masses, there meant for enthusiasts. They are not intended for the budget gamer.

How long did it take for the Z270 Extreme to get released after launch....?

Released and announced are the things we look at, it was announced yonks back, they could have announced an am4 extreme, would have taken one line "And here we have the z270 extreme ' And we will be doing one for AM4' "

But look at the line up asus has for z270, now look at the line up asus has for am4.

You must have known about it before I did. It was ages after launch and its still not for sale yet, Ive only just got mine.

I have to say bitching about it after a few weeks is really silly, and thats putting it nicely. None of the manu's have much of a 'range' yet.

Just chill, because you sound like a troll.
