Asus Xonar DGX with steelseries 5xb ?

hi, new poster here, im extremely curious because i have a steelseries spectrum 5xb headset and while being loud in some applications it can be quite quiet in others. i was wondering if getting a sound card would actually have an advantage with a pair of budget headphones with just a standard 3.5mm audio and mic jack.
any feedback would be great, thank you

I have one personally, and the difference is night and day.
If volume is the issue, You'll see a massive difference, because of the headphone amp, aslong as you use the ports on the card itself, and not front panel (Front panel amp doesn't work)
But with this comes dolby headphone which envelopes you in sound and sounds bloody awesome

if its really that much difference than i should get one, i just need to save for a power supply, thats more important

What motherboard are you using?
It may not make a massive difference, and you may be better off saving up for a better one.

pretty low end, gigabyte ga-z68ap-d3, i got a fairly low budget machine
