ASUS Triton 79 Amazing, more than just a pretty face?

Hey there everyone, first of all I'm new, so be gentle. And I don't just mean to these forums, but actually building systems.

So, heres the deal. I've saved up some cash and want to buy some bits so I can put together my own rig. I've decided on what parts I wanna get, but as far as CPU cooling goes, I'm pretty stumped.

I have my heart set on the Intel Core2 Quad Q9450, and I fished around a bit, and apparently the Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme is the way to go with cooling. I checked it out, but then I saw a picture of these new ASUS Triton 79's. Hot damn they are one good looking piece of kit! Haven't managed to find any reviews on their performance compared to other top coolers.

Any thoughts? Anyone round here picked one up and tested it out?

Would love some feedback. Cheers.

From what I have seen of it, it doesn't look that good; push pin installation are weak, the base doesn't look to have a good finish... I can't find many reviews either.

Forget aesthetics, get the TRUE.

Got one in my rig at the moment, it works fine and is pretty quiet. Got my Q6600 sitting at 3.2Ghz quite happily and stable with reasonable temperatures.

I should update my sig sometime :P

why not save £100 and get a Q6600?? Fair enough its not brand new but you get wicked clocks outta it.. Then wait abit and save abit more till the new CPU's come out.

I`ll be pushing the Q6600 until they stop making them tbh.
