Hey guys ,

sorry for making a thread for this but i was wondering

i own a asus rampage IV formula 2011 socket and i saw their where downloadable updates on the website

so does it matter when u bought the motherboard or are the drivers on the provided cd always the same ? meaning that the updates on the site are newer then the ones on the cd

sounds confusing but i hope u understand what i mean

ps : should i update my bios for the PCI 3.0 update or not

theirs several bios updates possible but which one to take ? the one with the latest date but will it have the previous updates to ?

i've always updated only if i had a problem and the update could repair the issue. updating when not necessary (to me) has

created some unrecoverable issues and sometimes you cannot return back to where you were before the update.

what matters on updates is the version you currently have to what is available. no need in updating to what you have currently.

do you have any PCI-e 3.0 devices? i wouldn't unless you had to unless there is a patch that might help in an application issue.

on boot up, gain access into BIOS (DEL key) and find the BIOS version number or boot into OS and launch the tuning software.

again, the BIOS version should be available. compare it to what is available and read the text file of what the BIOS fixes.
