Asus Rampage IV Extreme Intel X79 is on sale should I buy it???

Hey guys,

Right let's get straight to it I'm building my 2011 Rig for twitch it's going to do all my encoding I bought the CPU (i7 4930k) received it couple of days ago, But looking at the overclockersUK site they have the Asus Rampage IV Extreme Intel X79 motherboard for sale from £379.99 to £319.99 which is pretty good.

But I was going to get the Asus X79 DELUXE I believe the Deluxe are compatible with the 4930k so you dont need to mess around with bios flashing even though I'm going to need to update the bios if there is a newer version of course.

Is it worth it ??? Need help

Also the rampage is like 2 years old isnt it and the Deluxe came out this year like in November if I remember correctly saw Linus's video about it.....

I think it really depends on what type of rig you intend to build with it. Not much has changed with 2011, the chipset is the same. So while it may be an old board , it's still one of the top ones out there. So I'd say, if you intend to build a rig for overclocking with at least 2 cards in SLI and you know what you're doing, go for it. If not, then just stick with the more basic mobo.
Bios flashing isn't hard and most of the recent stock usually already has a new enough bios.

If you get a RIVE it will still work with newer CPU's it will just tell you to update the bios to get the best from it

You can also flash the bios from a USB without a cpu in it anyways

Long and short of it is the X79 chipset is on its final few months of life so people are trying to get rid of the stock (doesnt sell in huge numbers anyways)

Thanks for the feedback guys also found out that Amazon.co.uk are selling the Ramage for £305 lol but I really want that Black Edition but everywhere are overdue I cant get my hands on one god sake lol.

Basically this build is going to be incompletely encoding for twitch... If it was me I would get some Intel Xeon lol but I'm not that rich.
