It would be a great looking card if it wasn't red.. Hopefully the red is just metal accent plates that could be switched with blue or even white... Would be amazing tbh!

Also hopefully they cool the VRMS and memory this time unlike the previous AMD versions.

I don't get why it is the strix when it has the black red thing going... Might as well just call it the DCU and just repaint the cooler all black and call it the 'strix'

I was close. I said either £400 or £430. However, I'm probably bob on, given this is a Strix and thus will demand a higher price :)

Wicked !!

In fairness if you turn the image to the right it does look like an owl sleeping with its head tucked in.

Whether it was deliberate or not I have no idea.. I tend to look into things rather than at them.

I'm not the only one!! I thought I was getting crazy

Just focus on the outline of the plastic shroud. It's rounded at the top when you look at the card upright, then slowly comes down and spreads out like an owl's body. It even has the wing lines.. OK look at this. The general outer overall shape.

Right. Blue is folded wing lines, yellow is legs.

Now either whoever designed this was very, very clever or I am.

Edit. The red parts are actually the wing outlines ;)

Makes sense to me. The design is nice, they can't keep doing two fan coolers just because owl. BUT i'm confused why it's not just an ASUS DC3 or the accents aren't orange. Making a red/black Strix product seems retarded.

Well not retarded, visually it works nicely but, ROG is red and black, Strix is red and black and standard ASUS is quite often red and black... erm diversity needed me thinks. It's all very well going with the popular option but covering the same base over and over again with multiple sub-brands seems mad. Keep Republic of Benchmarkers and Strix separated a bit at least. Black and gloss black with delicate orange highlights would of been swag for this. Although again, I do really like it.

I guess we should just be treating it as standard ASUS products are now Strix branded and this is just an ASUS DC3.

I'm real curious about how these will perform within the current line up. It's all getting a little congested up at the top.

We have the 390 that is just a bit faster than the 970. The 390X that is around the speed of the 980 and the FuryX that is around the same performance as the 980 Ti. Along with the TitanX at the top of the heap.

Now we are going to have the Fury, It's going to be trading blows with the 390X isn't? Some situations faster others the difference may be marginal. It's going to be tricky to differentiate with two cards, if the real world performance is going to be similar. They will have vastly different technology but real tight on performance.
