Asus P8Z77 clearance with Silver Arrow

Hi new member to OC3D

Came across Tiny Tom Logan's video review of the Silverstone TJ08-E when looking for the right case for my new build and been reading a tonne of the reviews since. Anyway I figured now would be as good a time as any to sing up and seek some expert knowledge to further said build.

For those that don't know the TJ08-E is a mATX case and a fairly compact one at that but it will accommodate fairly decent sized coolers. Having looked at the cooler reviews it appears that the Silver Arrow is probably the best air cooler out there at the moment (and judging by your IB review I'm going to need a decent cooler). However, I'm wondering if someone can give me some insight into whether it will fit on a Asus mATX board (in this case the P8Z77 but I would suspect the Gene V and maybe the Z68 mATX boards they do will probably have the same socket placement) I'm going to be using low-profile RAM so clearance there isn't an issue but with the top slot being the PCIe x16 slot I am worried that it will cover this slot or come too close to the back of the GPU and cause a short.

I'd love someone to let me know whether or not I can use this cooler and motherboard, especially if they have this cooler and an Asus mATX board to confirm it with

Anyway thanks for reading and any help you can offer.

Hey Cram, I think I've made a bit of an error and forgotten to add the full title of the board as you linked to the P8Z77-V Pro which is the full ATX board. I should have said it was the P8Z77-M Pro which is the mATX board, if it had been the ATX board I agree it probably would have been ok (as in the image you linked) but the mATX board has the GPU slot right underneath the back-panel audio ports, which puts it roughly where the north bridge heatsink is on that X58 board. I suppose I could order it and see, I think I'll at least get the motherboard first to take some more accurate dimensions but obviously if I can avoid any unneccessary returns that would be preferable.

Hey, cool thanks for that and I'll check that competition out - always nice if you're buying something to be in with a chance of winning something as well
